anyone in here familiar with abbey fertilizer spreaders and how to set them
i recently got an abbey wagtail 700 kg fertilizer spreader out on trial , the dealer told me its the verbal same equally a vicon apart from the hopper and frame which are abbey , this did non bother me every bit anyone could brand a hopper or frame , the gearbox and settings are most important
however when i began to use it , i could not make head nor tail of the settings , i read the manual but the instructions did not play out in practice , i wanted to spread a bag of Tin can per acre and the booklet stated that i needed to fix the spreader at 4 , i did this but half an hr into a 3 acre paddock , the spreader was still one-half full , i left the spreader dorsum and since i know the dealer he was ok with it , he insisted the abbey spreader was to a vicon what a skoda is to a volkswagon and therefore the setting should be fine , anway im wondering should i get for a genuine vicon , they are at least a chiliad dearer but perhaps worth it , im not at all fussy about the badge especially when it comes to a spreader merely i practice believe in buying quality0

however when i began to use information technology , i could not brand caput nor tail of the settings , i read the manual but the instructions did not play out in practice , i wanted to spread a bag of Tin can per acre and the booklet stated that i needed to prepare the spreader at 4 , i did this but one-half an hour into a three acre paddock , the spreader was still half total , i left the spreader dorsum and since i know the dealer he was ok with it , he insisted the abbey spreader was to a vicon what a skoda is to a volkswagon and therefore the setting should be fine , anway im wondering should i go for a genuine vicon , they are at least a thousand dearer but perhaps worth it , im not at all fussy about the badge especially when it comes to a spreader merely i practise believe in buying qualityPut in 150 kgs for 3 acres & set it up surely later on you one or 2 rounds done you will know the rate of awarding & if you need to increase or subtract.
different size granules will require different setting
trial & try & a little common sense is all thats needed whether its abbey, vicon or else.

Put in 150 kgs for 3 acres & fix information technology up surely after you 1 or 2 rounds done you will know the rate of application & if you lot need to increase or decrease.
dissimilar size granules volition require different setting
trial & endeavor & a little mutual sense is all thats needed whether its abbey, vicon or else.
forgive my ignorance , ive but recently lost my job , im back full time on my brothers farm at present ( always helped out ) and its my task to spread the fetilizer
i was wondering whether an abbey is a decent enough spreader , as i said i was told its to a vicon what a skoda is to a volkswagon , the same apart from the hopper and chassis , anyone had any experience with them

tin can't be of help to you on this one, we accept an amazone twin disc,
previous to this i had a cosmo & the frame on this i cracked nevertheless we repaired it & it was working fine when we sold information technology, I believe the later cosmo were stronger & a different design.

The Abbey is similar to the sometime model Vicon spreaders merely not the same as the new ones. Personally i would get for the Vicon (Im a dealer for both and then im non biased). Having said that ive never had any complaints about the Abbey machines.

The Abbey is like to the old model Vicon spreaders but non the same as the new ones. Personally i would become for the Vicon (Im a dealer for both and so im not biased). Having said that ive never had any complaints well-nigh the Abbey machines.
a petty bird told me VICON were having some problems with the new models and that many believe the sometime ones ( same as the ABBEY) were ameliorate

As usual people always believe the lad in the pub as opposed to the people who actually know.
The vicon machines, in my experience are not giving trouble.

Hi I'g in the aforementioned gunkhole with a Cavallo wagtail spreader i inherited, i cannot detect the manual any where and tin't seem to get it spreading the correct amount, if any one has one of these all advice would be grateful
The model is a PXT 1290 twelvemonth 2003
The gauge has increments of 0- x what these stand for i dont know, and i cannot see where the spread width is adapted either possibly its a stock-still width0

Hi I'm in the same gunkhole with a Cavallo wagtail spreader i inherited, i cannot notice the manual whatsoever where and can't seem to become it spreading the correct amount, if any one has ane of these all advice would be grateful

Thanks Geezer 1000, i actually got an e-mail from cavallo themselves this morning with a operators manual attached, i emailed them a few days agone and got no response then i thought i was going to get no respond, so hope fully i get the answers i demand from information technology
